SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! #THEOUTCAST_IS_GOING_TO_CANNES_FILM_FESTIVAL!
Some of you may have already heard about the voting that was going on to get ‘The Outcast’ to be a part of #Cannes2017. The official results were announced by KCET and The American Pavilion yesterday. ‘The Outcast’ is actually the ‘Viewer’s Choice Award’ Winner in KCET’s Fine Cut & a finalist in The American Pavilion Showcase. As a result, ‘The Outcast’ will be screening in Cannes Film Festival’s Emerging Filmmaker Showcase run by The American Pavilion in May, 2017. Director Bucher Almzain is extremely excited to make this announcement official!
“I am deeply thankful and humbled by our audience’s incredible support. The enormous amounts of love that you have showered my team and I with will help us tell more stories that entertain you as well as engage your emotions with characters you care about. We hope to touch on significant stories that are not often highlighted by mainstream media. I also want to thank everyone who watched the film and interacted with it with tears, critique and feedback. This will definitely encourages me to keep going. To say I was overly excited would not do my sentiments any justice, receiving this tremendous news is a great sense of achievement for me as a first time director and to my team. At the same time and amongst the celebrations, it is also a time to contemplate and reflect on why I began making this film in the first place. The Syrian story is currently a major story everywhere on the surface level in many cases, yet we don’t know all the personal details that a Syrian family is enduring. ‘The Outcast’ was a story I developed with my wife, Aisha, and my friend, Josh, that we felt so crucial to tell. In the face of war and regardless of our political positions, families are devastated with permanent disastrous consequences . ‘The Outcast’ depicts the struggles of a couple who despite their love are nonetheless forced to separate into an unknown future. No matter what our political views are, or what language we may speak, I hope that this voice of many real life outcasts will reach you.

أعتقد أن البعض قد سمع عن التصويت الذي كان جارياً ليستطيع “فيلم المبعد” المشاركة في#مهرجان_كان_2017. و بذلك أعلن منظمي المهرجان (قناةKCET الأمريكية و (American Pavilion النتائج الرسمية البارحة. فبحمد الله ” فيلم المبعد” هو الفائز بجائزة “اختيار المشاهد ” في مهرجان فاين كات برعاية قناة KCET و في المرحلة النهائية في American Pavilion
ونتيجة لذلك، سيتم عرض “فيلم المبعد” في معرض الأفلام السينمائية الناشئة في مهرجان كان في شهر أيار 2017. مخرج العمل بشر المزين يملؤه الحماس لينقل لكم هذا الخبر بشكل رسمي:
“أشعر بالامتنان العميق للدعم الذي قدمه جمهورنا الرائع في فترة التصويت، فالحب الذي غمرتم به فريق العمل سيساعدنا على انتاج مزيد من القصص التي تمتعكم و تعكس مشاعركم من خلال شخصيات تهتمون لأثرها، و عرض المزيد من القصص الهامة الغائبة عن الساحة الإعلامية. كما أشكر أيضا كل من شاهد الفيلم وتفاعل معه بدموعه، نقده أو آرائه، إن تفاعلكم هذا هو الوقود الذي يدفعني للأمام بعد فضل الله علي. وفي هذه المناسبة أرغب بتذكر ما دفعني لصناعة هذا الفيلم بالذات. فكما هو معلوم باتت القصة السورية قضية محورية في كل مكان، لكن على المستوى الظاهري في كثير من الأحيان.أما على المستوى الإنساني قد لا نعرف بالضرورة عن التفاصيل المختلفة في معاناة الأسرة السورية. هذا ما جعل لدي الحافز الكبير لكتابة هذه القصة مع زوجتي و شريكتي عائشة بالإضافة الى صديقي جوش، هذه القصة التي قد لايخلو بيت سوري منها و مع ذلك لايعلم الكثيرعنها. فبغض النظر عن موقفنا السياسي، فإن الأسرة السورية باتت في مواجهة مع الحرب التي لم تدمر الأرض فحسب بل أتت بنتائج كارثية على علاقات هذه الأسر. “فيلم المبعد” يحاول تجسيد ذلك في قصة درامية تجسد رحلة زوجة سورية و زوجها و الذين رغم الحب الذي يجمعهما يضطران إلى الابتعاد في مستقبل مجهول. وبغض النظر عن التوجهات السياسية أو اللغة المحكية، آمل أن يصلكم صوت الكثير من المبعدين الحقيقيين من خلال هذا العمل.”
